## Key findings
- **Measure R** raises the park parcel tax from **$22 to $37 a year** and adds a **1% annual increase**, with **no end date**. It brings in about **$510K more** in its first year and needs **two-thirds**. [^1][^2]
- The parcel tax already pays **about 70% of the district's $1.1M budget**. The district runs **12 parks, a sports complex and two community centers** across 110 square miles, and gets no state or county operating money. [^2]
- **No argument against was filed.** An independent auditor reports each year on what was collected and spent. [^1]

## Measure R: Park parcel tax from $22 to $37
**What it does:** Starting July 1, 2027, raises the special parcel tax to $37, plus 1% a year. Money goes to a special account for park upkeep and repairs, recreation programs and staff, equipment, and emergency repairs after snow, flood or fire. **Two-thirds** to pass. [^1]

**Does it solve a lasting problem?** Insurance and utility costs are rising, and the district says it has already cut staff and studied fees. A flat per-parcel tax costs a cabin owner the same as a large property owner. [^2]
